Virtual Teams

Organizations have stumbled into the world of working through virtual teams without giving much thought as to how they different from teams where employees all work in the same office.  This has been caused by the intersection of new technologies for communicating, and a driving need by society to work from home, or to choose to live in a specific area for quality of life reasons.  Add to that the proliferation of freelancers who are choosing to work as contractors instead of employees, and you have fertile ground to virtual teams to continue to grow.
